(See also the SEKE'03 conference
page and the Around SF page.)
As a Sydney-sider, I have an acquired
addiction to harbour cruises. So
the conference dinner cruise
at the 2003 SEKE conference
was a real
treat.
Inside the cruise
boat, all was warm and friendly. The
King and Queen of SEKE (S.K. and Judy)
are fine hosts.
But outside, it was freezing!
Nevertheless,
despite the cold,
I spent
most of the night outside taking
pictures- running round the deck taking shots of
San Fran at dusk.
When I could not feel
my fingers anymore, I'd got back inside
to warm up on my fellows.
There was much worthy of a picture or three.
San Francisco city is pretty
cool.
Then there's the old Alcatraz prison-
a brooding ruin that the
sun won't shine on.
San Francisco is called "fog city"
since every day a cap of fog sneaks
out of the Pacific and rolls
over the foothills into the city.
I should have stopped taking pictures
much sooner but the scenery was just
stunning.
I don't normally do rah-rah stuff like this last pic. But I have to admit
that the flag looked darn fetching up against
the night sky.
