As explained to Mrs. Dorothy Burgess by Ms Helen Burges and Dr. Tim Menzies whilst wet at Taupo Municipal Baths, Taupo, New Zealand, December 1999
Stuff is the stuff that stuff is made from. In the beginning there was 'nuthin. And then there was STUFF.
There's bad stuff and there's good stuff. Kids squel and cover their eyes when they see the kissy stuff on television. And why not? Stuff like that can be so icky.
You gotta get all the good stuff you can. Christopher Columbus sailed to America looking for spicey stuff for Isabella. History is all about stuff like that. Important stuff. Bloody stuff. Peaceful stuff and all that other stuff in between we don't talk about. Because that's dull stuff. Still, dull or not, its still stuff and stuff is important stuff.
We use words to sort our stuff. And there can be so much stuff happenning. Chaos happens just between when there's too much stuff and not enough stuff.
You have to handle your stuff. Stuff can get out of hand, if you let it. Cause there is always so much new stuff to learn. Often you need to clear up your stuff, just to keep it organized. How often have we realised that we're just not ready for that kind of stuff?
We understand: stuff can be dangerous- stuff can cut. So don't underestimate how powerful your stuff can be. Sometimes, the stuff you don't know can hurt you. Sure, stuff is arbitary, stuff is what you see in stuff, and stuff just happens. But other people's stuff can hit you right between the eyes and blow stuff all over the wall behind you.
OK, gotta go. Stuff to do, stuff to see. But is was nice talking abut stuff, and stuff. And before we go, we should give thanks:
Dear Lord,
We give praise for things, and stuff.
